Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Arrival in Epernay

Arrive in Epernay, the heart of the Champagne region. Meet with a tour representative for a welcome briefing, where you'll receive general information about the area, tourist tips, and road maps. Overnight stay at your hotel.

    • Accommodation in Epernay
  2. Day 2Marne Valley Loop

Winding between vineyard rows and rolling hills, the Champagne Trail through the Marne Valley immerses you in the region’s rich winemaking heritage. From elevated sections of the route, you’ll enjoy sweeping views across the valley below.

Your ride leads you through the vines to Hautvillers, a charming village famed for its Benedictine abbey. Continue on to Cumières, where you can pause for lunch—perhaps in a unique restaurant carved into chalk. In Damery, don’t miss the 12th–13th century church perched above the village, home to an 18th-century Madonna and Child painting by Watteau.

As you make your way toward Venteuil, take in views of the elegant Château de Boursault. The trail then carries you through a changing landscape of vineyards, fields, and forested stretches, passing quiet villages en route to Reuil. From there, cross to the opposite side of the Marne and return to Épernay.

  3. Day 3Côte des Blancs Loop

Today, you’ll ride through the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs, the birthplace of the elegant Chardonnay grape. Following the Champagne Tourist Trail, descend towards Pierry, where you can explore its 18th-century château, storerooms, and cellars, as well as the 12th-century church of Chavot-Courcourt—a solitary island of stone set amid a sea of vines.

Continuing through Cuis, with its charming Romanesque church, the route leads you along cliffside paths toward Cramant, home to its striking 8.5-metre-high bottle sculpture. Nearby lies the village of Avize, adorned with frescoes that reflect the artistic heritage found across Champagne.

You’ll then return to Épernay via the floral village of Oger, officially recognised as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France,” where you may visit a museum dedicated to traditions, love, and Champagne. The journey back continues through Aÿ-Champagne, with the option to stop at the Pressoria wine museum—well worth a visit.
