Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Denpasar - Sanur

A SpiceRoads team member will meet you at Denpasar’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in the east coast village of Sanur (about 1 hour). Once you arrive, you can unwind by the pool and get ready for the adventure ahead. Later, you’ll join the group for a trip briefing before heading to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

  2. Day 2Batur Volcano

You’ll travel up to Penulisan on the rim of the Mt. Batur crater, where your first ride begins with sweeping views of the volcanic cone and, on clear days, Mt. Abang and Mt. Agung in the distance. From here, you’ll follow dirt roads and gentle single track to the village of Pinggan for a well-earned lunch.

A short but steep descent then brings you to the base of the volcano, where you’ll spend the afternoon riding narrow sandy trails around its slopes. The final section crosses a lava field, giving you a rare chance to see the volcano up close and experience its striking, moon-like landscape.

  3. Day 3Mt. Abang and Mt. Agung

This is your chance to experience a side of the island that few ever see. You’ll begin riding from Abang toward the east coast, starting at the edge of the Batur Crater. From there, you’ll descend along jeep tracks for about 8 km before turning east and climbing steadily through 10 km of pine forest to reach a mountain pass between Mt. Abang and Mt. Agung.

Lunch is enjoyed in this dramatic, high-altitude setting. Keep in mind that this area is extremely remote, and vehicle support will be limited for long sections of the ride. In the afternoon, an exhilarating descent leads you toward the east coast, passing dry riverbeds and winding through cashew plantations.

With breathtaking views over the rice paddies and a pristine white beach (don’t forget your swimsuit), enjoy a packed lunch.

The afternoon ride continues through some of Bali’s most picturesque rice paddy landscapes, finishing on the stunning coastline near Candidasa Beach, where a cool, refreshing drink awaits.
