Croatia MTB and Boat Tour - Kvarner Bay Islands

The tour is 8 days long with 6 days of biking. Most days are spent cycling in the mornings with a cruise in the afternoon. See the itinerary for specifics.

This tour is primarily a guided group tour. The day-tours average of 25 mi./40 km and take you through hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time constraints. Almost all cycling days start at sea level, this commonly results in an uphill start to the tour.

This tour is listed as an intermediate tour for mountain bikers who enjoy riding on diverse terrain and are used to climbs of up to 500m. 

Your tour guide informs you each day about the tour details and physical requirements. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend time on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour. Tours are dependent on weather conditions and the final decision is that of the captain.

Group riding pace: On regular cycling tours, the cyclists on regular bicycles determine the pace. We ask guests who have reserved an e-bike to be mindful of this and to acknowledge that the regular cyclists need time to rest and take longer to climb the hills. Thank you for your understanding.

Helmets are mandatory on bike tours. It is advised to bring your own well-fitted helmet as rental helmets are limited.

Bike helmets can be provided free of charge if reserved prior to arrival (limited
amount).

The Tour Operator discourages guests from bringing their own bike due to costly and risky transport.

The bikes often get damaged during the transport and taxis are often unwilling to transport bicycle boxes. In addition, it is also difficult to store the boxes on the boat during the week.

The tour operator does not allow private e-bikes on board of the boats. This decision has been made due to health and safety regulations. If you wish to ride an e-bike for the duration of your tour, please select the rental option.

Special dietary requirements (lactose free/gluten free/vegan) can be accommodated for an additional fee of EUR70. This must be communicated in advance and payable on board the ship.

The food served on board is traditional and characteristic for the country. Higher nutritional demands of bikers are taken into account.

The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one warm meal a day.

The catering consist of half board and starts with dinner on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day. Lunch could be packed or a picnic as well.

Breakfast on board generally includes bread, butter, cheese, ham, coffee and tea. For lunch or dinner (according to program) the chef generally serves light fish or meat dishes or vegetarian meals. A dessert might occasionally be served for dinner.

If you wish to eat vegetarian food or have distinctly different eating habits please inform us in time before your arrival. Please keep in mind that special food requirements cannot always be met in all details.

If you have extensive food allergies we ask you to give us a list of the food that you can eat. This should be done before your arrival so that the cook can be instructed to plan and shop accordingly.

In the case of a gluten free diet, we request that you bring along your own basic foodstuffs.
