Ålesund, where you'll start your adventure, is one of Norway's most distinctive looking towns, and is packed with incredible architecture, set along the backdrop of the spectacular fjords. The town is famous for its Art Nouveau style architecture steeped in history. There is plenty to do here, and although the town’s architecture is a museum in itself, the art nouveau centre; Jugendstilsenteret is worth a visit to explore the story in more depth.
Setting off on your first ride, you'll be heading towards Stranda where you can take in some more of those breathtaking Norwegian views. From here you'll ferry across to Valldal, your home for the next two nights. Now suitably warmed up, heading up to the viewpoint to admire the Trollstigen Pass (The Troll's Ladder) is the next challenge. Whilst the iconic hairpin bends is the view you’re searching for, you won’t need to take on the entire Tollstigen Road to reach the top and instead you'll take a more manageable route to the viewpoint from Valldal. Whilst today’s route will be one of our toughest climbs of the week, it is an achievable challenge on your e-bike and rewarded with incredible views of Norway’s most picturesque road.
After a relaxing kayaking experience to take in the spectacular scenery from the water, you'll head off from Valldal, and the latter part of the route will take you to Geiranger (home to UNESCO World Heritage fjord landscapes) and to the lovely village of Sæbø. To round out the trip, you'll arrive back at Ålesund, once again taking in the incredible scenery and exploring this wonderful town.
Note that this is an e-bike only tour.
