  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends from Cusco, Peru. Fly in/out of Cusco (CUZ). Airport transfers are included on the first and last day of the tour only and can be accommodated throughout the day on arrival.

  • How long is the tour? How many days cycling?

The tour is 11 days long with 7 days of cycling and 1 day of hiking.

  • What's the tour like?

The tour has flexible mileage on some days - totalling 215–258 km or averaging 30-36km a day.

Suitable for reasonably fit cyclists, you'll ride a mix of tarmac and rarely used dirt roads to explore by day, staying at charming locally run hotels at night. The full-suspension mountain bikes (or e-bikes) make navigating the trails an absolute pleasure and the expert guides, mechanics, chefs and back-up vehicles are always on hand to keep you safe, informed, rolling smoothly and fuelled with healthy local dishes.

The majority of the biking takes place on dirt roads and 4-wheel drive tracks with some singletrack sections along the way.  The biking isn’t technical, however, it is recommended to have some experience, and be familiar with riding a mountain bike both on and off-road. It is not necessary however to have a high skill level to enjoy this holiday.

The Inca Trail day hike is made up of Incan steps connected by gravelly sections and well-trodden footpaths. The steps make the route quite physically demanding in places and it is advisable to do some pre-trip training.

  • Are helmets provided?

Yes, they can be but please request them after booking.

"Fantastic duo to lead the group..."

Xavier is a fantastic tour leader, I have the utmost trust in him. He goes above and beyond in making sure everyone is safe and taken care of. Raul is a fountain of information and always had interesting things to tell us during the trip. He ensured nobody was left behind and that we were all safe. Overall a great complement to Xavier and Raul.

"Excellent! A wonderful cycling holiday, fantastic riding..."

A wonderful cycling holiday, fantastic riding, amazing scenery, great guides, delicious food and a very welcoming country. The guides were knowledgeable and very helpful. Always looking to make the trip special and explain the locality. For example an unexpected highlight for us was a visit to a local bakery which was not in the trip notes.
