  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends in Esk, Queensland.

Esk is approximately 100km from Brisbane, Queensland or 64km north of Ipswich on the Brisbane Valley Highway. Driving is the best way to arrive, or you can catch a bus from Ipswich.

Fly in/out of Brisbane Airport (BNE).

  • How long is the tour? How many days riding?

The tour is 3 days long with 2 days riding.

  • What's the tour like?

The tour is on the easy side in terms of difficulty, the distances are achievable for most riders, and you'll start the tour at the northern end so it’s largely downhill.  Although small sections are paved, the majority of the trail is either hard packed gravel or dirt track so the tour operator recommends well-equipped mountain bikes (you can BYO or rent a bike).

  • Can I hire a bike?

Yes, there are mountain bikes (Trek hardtail)  or e-mountain bikes (Trek) to hire.

You can also bring your own bike if you prefer.

  • Is there a minimum age?

Yes, 18 is the minimum age for the tour.

  • If I'm travelling alone, will I have to pay more?

If you wish to have your own room or are travelling alone then a single supplement is payable.

  • Are helmets required?

A helmet is required to be worn on all biking activities and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you won't be allowed to cycle.

The tour operator does have helmets available to hire but if you have your own this is preferable so that you are comfortable with a well-fitted helmet.

  • As the tour is self-guided, how will I know where to go?

Your arrival information will include detailed, daily riding instructions for your tour along with the map showing your route highlighted. Riding instructions will provide thorough information and give you the flexibility to travel at your own pace.
