  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends in central Christchurch where you will be collected and returned to at the end of the tour. Fly in/out of Christchurch International Airport (CHC).

  • How long is the tour? How many cycling days?

The tour is 4 days long with 2 cycling days, 1 day hiking and 1 day rafting.

  • What's the tour like?

This trip is graded Moderate to Challenging. While much of this itinerary is moderate, the Goat Pass hike is challenging in an exposed alpine environment with sections of untracked trails, riverbeds and multiple river crossings. The sense of isolation and wilderness is a strong feature of this trip and the support vehicle is not available during the walk.

To enjoy this epic trip, you need to be confident walking across uneven terrain and able to walk comfortably for up to 7-8 hours at a time (with breaks included) with some steep uphill sections.

  • Who will lead the group?

The guides are one of the operator's biggest assets. They pride themselves with the standard and quality of these great people who you will be spending your holiday with. They come from all walks of life but they all have a common desire to give you the best possible experience, heaps of fun and lots of fond memories to take home with you. You'll be provided with the services of two guides for many of the trips, (this may depend on the size of the group). All are certified in first aid and CPR and many are advanced mountain guides.

Great trip - probably a once in the lifetime for us. Pete and Steve, our guides were amazing and very encouraging when the going got tough on Goat Pass. Probably the only negative was the time spent on the raft - but I guess that's the Coast to Coast. All in all a very physical, tiring and amazing trip. The organisation of the trip was extremely good, accommodation and food again very good. Thanks so much.

Really great. Felt safe at all times & liked the level of assistance so we could pace ourselves. Definitely don't drink the water on Eastern side & refill at Hut. Meals good Country Pub fare, but some were better than others. I would definitely take more snacks than you think you need as you really do burn the energy. I would also double up on the clothing. A trip I would never think I would ever do & I loved it. Road bike really great. E-bikes really not needed unless you want a wide seat & I do very little riding.
