  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts in Split and ends in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Fly into Split Airport (SPU) and out of Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), also known as Čilipi Airport.

  • How long is the tour? How many cycling days?

The tour is 8 days long with 4 days cycling plus 1 day with optional cycling.

  • What's the tour like?

This tour is classified Road: activity level 3 (Moderate) with an average distance of 45km (28mi) per day with full vehicle support. The rides mainly follow tarmac roads, but where possible on the islands we will use the quieter older roads that tend to be hard gravel. The roads are quiet and there is less traffic on the islands than the mainland. The route will be generally undulating but there are a few challenging hills that can be tough in the warm weather. The trip is vehicle supported so it is possible to miss some of these harder sections if you prefer. At times the route will follow roads or tracks with a steep downslope to one side.

  • Is a bike available?

Yes, a Wheeler Protron 420 mountain bikes with front suspension is included.

Bringing your own bike is possible but is on request basis. Please note it is logistically difficult to transport bike boxes on this trip, therefore extra charges might be incurred locally to send it to the end location.

    1. The equipment remains the property of the supplier and you may not sell, hire out or part possession with the equipment.

    2. You must not misuse the equipment and must return it in the same condition as when received (ordinary wear and tear excepted). The supplier is entitled to charge for any damage caused to the equipment during the period of hire.

    3. You must ensure that the equipment is adequately secured when not in use. In the event of the equipment being lost or stolen, you may be liable for the replacement value of the equipment

    4. You must not use the equipment whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and should immediately notify the Supplier in the event of breakdown or loss.

    Extra Bike Bits

You may like to bring your own pedals and saddle (excluding the seat post) or gel saddle cover to fit to the hire bikes. The tour operator encourages this, if it is your preference. However, please note that you are responsible for your own equipment, and removing your saddle/pedals at the end of the trip. They cannot guarantee the return of any bike parts left behind.

  • Do I have the wear/bring a helmet?

Wearing a helmet is mandatory for anyone taking part in this cycling holiday. Group members must bring their own helmets, as they are not available for hire.

Cycling of all kinds has its dangers and accidents can happen from time to time. Please ensure that you are properly prepared for the riding you are going to undertake.

    Recommended Cycling Clothing

Padded cycling shorts (with loose 'over-shorts' where recommended), breathable clothing, and a lightweight waterproof/windproof top. Shoes with relatively stiff soles are better for biking but are not essential unless you are cycling long distances. Most people want to carry certain items with them during the day while cycling, for this we recommend a large bum-bag or small close-fitting daysack.

  • Should I have travel insurance?

Yes. It is a condition of joining this holiday that you must be fully insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs and air ambulance or helicopter rescue services where appropriate). On arrival in destination for your trip, you will be asked to present details to your leader or local representative of your policy.

  • Can I have private room? What is the single supplement cost?

A single supplement is applicable if you are travelling alone or wish to have your own room. The price varies depending on the dates chosen with minimum price starting at GBP230.00

If you would like to book a single room please contact us.

Must see Croatia

This trip is a must do! Croatia is not only beautifully scenic, its people are friendly and most speak English. The ride is challenging but doable. If you're looking for adventure and beautiful, friendly country, this one's for you.
Day 1 is a bit of a challenge with a 10k uphill climb. Be ready for this but everyone on our trip completed it and we were rewarded with a delicious meal at the top.
Our leader was Alan. He has a real enthusiasm for cycling and is excited to show you his country.

Highly recommended!

My husband and I have just returned from this cycle trip and we can highly recommend it to anyone thinking of doing the same. Alan, the tour leader, was outstanding and I just hope he gets paid enough! We had a lovely group with mixed ages and four lovely Canadians and a very helpful, smiley driver, Tommy. Slightly better hotels could improve the trip and, yes, better coffee and orange juice for breakfast.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Completing all the cycling!
What did you think of your group leader?

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Excellent leader Alan. Great balance between towns and countryside. Difficult to find anything I would change, perhaps better hotel coffee.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Not having been before, Dubrovnic was fascinating, but really it was the fabulous coastlines throughout the trip.
What did you think of your group leader?
Alan is knowledgeable on history, very thorough on briefings especially safety. Also a nice guy. Excellent.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
No, it was what was on the tin as they say.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The ferries are great, clean and comfortable.
