Along the way you'll be riding along Sweden’s gorgeous coastline, through charming fishing villages and small port towns. As the week goes on and you edge closer and closer to Gothenburg you'll notice your surroundings changing with each pedal stroke, with scenic cliffs, lush forests, sheltered bays and quaint harbours filling the views.

Cafés and restaurants are dotted throughout, and so there are plenty of places to take a break and take in your surroundings. Whether that's packing up a picnic and heading to one of the sandy beaches nearby, or dining al fresco with a cheeky Schnapps, you'll always find somewhere to take a break and fuel up for the rest of the ride.  On reaching Gothenburg, you can stop for a fika (the Swedish custom of enjoying a coffee and some nibbles with friends) and celebrate riding the length of the Kattegattleden.

For most of the route you’ll follow the Kattegattleden cycle path. Much of the route is traffic free, however some sections will see you riding on quiet back roads, and occasionally parallel to busier roads with traffic. You’ll be riding on well sign-posted paved cycle paths and some sections on gravel roads. The tour ranges from flat to slightly hilly, with some cheeky ups and downs along the way and some substantial distances to cover each day. With this in mind, the tour is graded as a level 3 and a good level of physical fitness is recommended. You would need to be comfortable with some longer days in the saddle.  Ängelholm – Halmstad is the day with the most climbs, and Falkenburg to Varberg is the most relaxed route of the week.

Note: a minimum of 2 persons are required for a tour departure
