Cycle Tour Chile: Northern Austral Road

A wonder! They take care of all the details to make it a great experience, even for a beginner and enthusiastic pedalboard like me. Travelling with them was far the best way I found to know the north stretch. Great Mix of logistics, knowledge and good vibes. The best travel companions and great cletas.

I had a wonderful experience with [the tour operator] on both the Norte and Sur trips on the Carretera Austral in January 2022. Claudia and Gabriel were the best guides and supports I have travelled with and they ensured that throughout the trip we were prepared and cared for. The Carretera Austral is a stunning route that takes you through a whole host of landscapes with stunning views around every turn. The beauty of being on a bike is that you can stop as much (or as little) as you want to take it all in. We also stopped multiple times throughout each day for snacks/lunch/pictures and to just take in the view (depending on how far the ride was) and depending on the weather could warm up with some coffee/tea or get fresh water and something to eat. The whole trip balanced hard work on the bike with time to rest and recover and prepare for the next day.

I rented a bike from [the tour operator] for both trips and was able to use a gravel bike for the northern segment of the trip as the roads were mostly pavement and for the southern section, I used a mountain bike. Both were excellent for the roads we were on and well maintained throughout the trip.

As someone who is gluten free I was a bit wary of the gluten free options that would be available where we were travelling but Claudia and Gabriel ensured that I always had food for whenever I was hungry and plenty of extra snacks as we were riding.
I would happily recommend [the tour operator] to anyone looking to visit Southern Chile and am already brainstorming times to travel with them again.

I rode Puerto Montt to Coyhaique with [the tour operator] over 10 days in late Jan 2020. It was a truly great experience. I was a solo visitor from Australia in a small tour group of Chileans.

As another reviewer has said "I have only nice things to say about this company". Claudia and the [tour operator] team were professional, highly experienced and knowledgeable, and passionately committed to delivering a great customer experience. They went way beyond my expectations on a whole range of things both during and after the tour. The guides that rode and drove with us, Gabriel and Coke were super. They weren't just doing their job well, they were totally committed (24/7) to the experience and our safety and welfare. I chose the tour from an internet ad and was so pleased to find such nice people to deal with in Chile.

The tour itself was amazing. The riding hardish (but as expected). Most was on the shoulder of paved roads, so some traffic nearby, but these were world class roads with very goods shoulders. The scenery was so good and luckily for us the weather was fine (just one coldish rain day, a long day but one we all got through with Gabriel's encouragement). The food was almost the best bit; cooked breakfasts, (I'll not forget those hot scrambled egg ham and cheese rolls, coffee, I could go on).

This is the best trip I've done. It's a statement of fact, in any organisation it has been equally good. We can stop where we want to, you really get the opportunity to immerse yourself in the countryside. Patagonia seemed to be a place which was extremely safe and very beautiful and  people I've had, they're all wonderful

A++ cycling experience in Patagonia, Chile Claudia, the owner [...], arranged our bike tour though northern Ruta 7 of Carretera Austral for 6 friends. We do a lot of bike touring around the world and prefer local companies and guides. This may have been the best ever! The route and scenery were gorgeous and interesting, she customised for our style of riding (not easy, but also not extreme). The accommodations were so charming and delightful. She accommodated our coffee habits and hot springs indulgences. We learned about the culture, the history and the healthy and delicious food. 

We did the Northern Carretera Austral 500km cycle tour on 6 January 2026, and it was truly one of the most memorable trips my husband and I have ever taken. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. Our guides, Daniel and Lisette, were simply outstanding, incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about the region. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making everyone feel comfortable and motivated throughout the journey. Our group was small, which made the experience even more special. There was a real sense of camaraderie, and it allowed for a more personal and immersive adventure. The route itself was breathtaking, a perfect mix of challenge and beauty. Every day brought something new, from stunning landscapes to rewarding climbs. It pushed us physically, but in the best possible way. It was not just a trip, but something that felt deeply restorative for both body and soul. This is definitely one of the best trips I’ve ever done, and one I would absolutely love to repeat, perhaps exploring a different route next time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique, active, and unforgettable experience. 

Just came back from a 10 day bike ride with this company thru Chile on the Carretera Austral. Claudia who was our guide [...] was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for more.our group was 60+ age group and she became one of our sisters within days. Her love for Chile and her wealth of information made the trip! She showed us things we would never have experienced with another group. We have done one trip a year for the last 14 years and I can say honestly that Claudia was one of our favourite guides. She can also cook extremely healthy foods that help sustain you on your ride! Just completed an epic cycling trip led by Claudia! Great scenery and terrain, as well as wonderful meals in both restaurant venues and some that were homemade:) She catered to our group of six and made sure that we were safe, fed and enjoying our biking experience! We joined the guided Northern Austral tour in January 2026. Fernando and Claudia could not have been more helpful in assisting us with our planning in advance. We rented gravel bikes - Giant and LIV - both really great, and so nice to have Dani along to fix any mechanicals. Our guides were Dani and Liz - driving and riding respectively. They were great - friendly, professional and always full of energy. We could not have asked for more. One of the best roads in the world, great food, wonderful places to stay and one of the best holidays we have ever enjoyed. Well done to the [...] team - you really are a bunch of rockstars. Highly recommended

We were four cyclists, three of us over 80 with 85 the top number. We do adventure cycling trips every year, all over the world. We relied on Fernando for planning our trip and Claudia Huepe for supporting us throughout the ride. For the first time, we used eBikes. Claudia drove the support van, got us to and across ferries on time, got us to accommodations and dinners and provided support when the ride seemed too tough for us. We had a great time and I can't recommend [the operator] highly enough. Thanks for a great adventure!

Loved this bike tour!!. Absolutely wonderful! The team of Nacho, Ari, Gabi, Feña y Clau were wonderful. They were always happy and went the extra mile to make our trip a success. They opened our eyes to Chile and we loved it! Patagonia is awesome! We hired bikes and they were great. A really great adventure! We did the northern and the southern tour in the same trip…the perfect way for us to do it.

A great way to experience the wonderful landscapes of Patagonia A very picturesque country with different views and landscapes around each corner. The cycling is tougher than the distances because the gravel roads are a lot harder than tarmac cycling, and some sharp uphills may need you to walk with your bike.

Best ever!. We did a custom tour with Claudia on the northern Carretera Austral. It is my favourite. The scenery was unbelievable, the accommodations were fantastic and Claudia and Fernando were the best. I am coming back. No question. I would recommend this trip to anyone who has an adventurous spirit.

One expected to see things as from the hanging glacier or maybe the Puma at some point in the trip. But it's not until you see them physically that you realise how huge they are. That is one of the grandness of this place. And the fact there is so much of it just seems to go on forever, which really struck me.
