Cycling Coastal Thailand

Our trip was a great opportunity to see rural Thailand and get to know the people, history, culture and it was a wonderful introduction to some fabulous eating experiences.

Guide Yo and Driver Rin were an excellent team. Yo's knowledge of the culture and farm practices was particularly interesting. His selection of snacks and dinner items was stellar and he was so careful to address special dietary needs. Yo was so very kind and considerate of all the tour participants and his gentle ways made for a delightful time together. Rin was funny, warm and such an incredible professional addressing road safety issues and acting quickly to address a small accident one of the riders experienced. Yo is one of the best guides we have ever had on a tour.

The trip is clearly for a person that is in excellent shape. While it was a push for one of us, it is an experience I would not have wanted to miss.

Excellent guide and driver! Wonderful "rest stop" snacks. Biking through beautiful rural, forested and seaside settings mostly on very smooth, quiet country or bike path. Perfect for the recreational biker.

Our last night in Khao Lak was at a fabulous hotel, a wonderful way to end the tour! And we had plenty of time to swim. Thank you.

Very beautiful and quiet countryside of Thailand, nice and hospitable people! We really love this trip! Our guide Mr. Yo is one of the most excellent, professional and informative tour guides I've ever seen. He's got a great command of the English language and introduced everything we saw to us in details, such as the floating market, railway market, temples, local people's life, the plants, fruits and trees along the way, etc, and was always very patient to answer our questions and explained what we wanted to know very clearly. Our driver Mr. Rin is also one of the best and professional drivers I have ever met. He always prepared a great variety of fruits and snacks for us. He was also willing to communicate with us about everything and was very humourous too. Yingying and I both love this Cycling Coastal Thailand trip so much, even though we only did the tour for 6 days. We would love to come back again in the future and do the trip again! Thank you for arranging such a great trip for us!

This tour was an excellent choice for seeing several of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand; AND in a small group, AND not sitting in vans or buses for the whole time in Thailand. As usual; SpiceRoads found a way to have us enjoy the biking experience by visiting farmland and rural areas AND staying almost exclusively on paths without motor vehicles; and managing to find very nice resort-like overnight facilities. Nice work again.

Really enjoyed the more relaxed way of seeing a relatively unknown part of Thailand, by cycling a maximum of 50 km combined with sightseeing. It was a varied programme including some welcome relaxation on the island. We had the most fantastic meals every day. The quality of the hotels was good and varied from a basic Thai hotel to a bungalow with our own swimming pool (after an upgrade). We preferred the hotels in quieter settings. Yo was a lovely leader, willing to answer every question but didn't show enough initiative to inform us beforehand about the day, what to expect from Thailand etc. Yo's choice of restaurants and dishes was excellent.

Excellent in every way. The guide would share with us everything about the culture and history, daily life, etc.

Both driver and guide tried to make the trip a great experience for us, taking care of every little detail such as making sure we had a particular drink or snack we had mentioned we liked, or by carefully choosing the menu so we would be exposed to as many different dishes. They were both very friendly and professional.

When I had my accident, I thought that Yo and Pong, the driver were excellent. I am a doctor and I was able to see that they acted very well: calm with the right level of urgency. Yo sat in the accident department with me and was able to contact my insurers: all very helpful

A good range of accommodation, nice to be in some local Thai hotels as well as modern western styles. 95% of roads were excellent.

One of the group had a bad fall but he was quickly taken to an excellent hospital and all the organisation covered by Yo in a calm and professional manner. I was really impressed.

Overall I really enjoyed the tour - it was very well organised and a good group of people. Yo, the guide and Pong the driver were fantastic and made the 10 days a lot of fun as well as giving a good view of Thailand.

Pong, our driver was amazing. He did not speak English yet he anticipated our every need and was very most friendly and kind. He was an excellent driver and we always felt safe.

Yo, our guide was also excellent. He has an excellent knowledge of Thailand and when he couldn't answer a question he looked it up and told us. He was flexible, allowing us to modify the program to suit our group of six. He made sure we were well taken care of. He was professional and handled a challenging situation, when one of our group was Injured, very calmly.

The roads were very scenic, well chosen!! We loved cycling along the ocean thru the quiet forests and plantations. Although it was hot Yo and Pong had frequent rest stops with a good selection of drinks and local snacks!!,

We loved the cycling, the wonderful attention to details Spice Roads had organised and how well Yo and Pong treated us. We had a wonderful time with our group of six, that was in our mind, the perfect size.

We enjoyed all the cultural activities, the afternoon at the Muslim village we enjoyed learning about the Tsunami, seeing the big cave and visiting the markets. We really liked when Yo provided tastes of local snacks.

Our driver Pong was beyond excellent. His driving was at the highest standards. He cared for the van and our equipment at all times and anticipated our every need. We have the greatest respect for Mr. Pong!! Yo cared for us and our safety and made the trip fulfilling.

Overall the tour was excellent.

It was all great. I appreciated the way Yo and Andy and Sunat would stop to explain things along the way. We all left with a great appreciation for the Thai culture.

Yo, Andy, Sunat, andTeerapong were all fantastic. Andy and Sunat were very personable and extremely helpful to me. But all in all, you have a great team working for you. We could not have wished for better.

Again the trip was made so special because of the guides and drivers. I will try to do another Spice Roads tour in the future.
