  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends at the tour operator's office in central Queenstown. You will be taken from there to the start of the ride in Arrowtown and bike back there yourself.

Fly in/out of Queenstown Airport (ZQN).

  • How long is the tour?

The tour runs for approximately 4 hours.

  • What's the tour like?

The ride is approximately 35 km and is suitable for cyclists who ride regularly. The average biking time is 4 hours, allow longer if you go to bungy and if you want to enjoy stops en route.

    Elevation Gain: 307 m (1,007 ft)
    Elevation Loss: 395 m (1,295 ft)

Pro Tip: pack a good jacket and warm pair of gloves for riding over the winter months.

  • What's the weather like?

Riding in the Queenstown area over winter is generally very pleasant. A typical winter’s day is cool and crisp with blue skys and snow-capped mountains. However, storms and bad weather are more frequent than in summer and we understand that riding in those conditions is not much fun.

The Tour Operator usually makes a weather call on-the-day, as it often turns out not as bad as the forecast suggests. If you are uncertain in the morning of your ride, give us a call 45 mins – 1 hr before your shuttle departs and we will discuss options. If it's deemed that the weather is unsuitable for riding, we first try to re-schedule to another time or another day, but if that isn’t possible we would refund your ride (less a 3% merchant fee).

  • Can I do this tour with an infant?

Yes, child trailers are available and can be attached to the back of the bike. The child would be secured with a seat belt in an upright position and must be able to hold their head upright independently while wearing a helmet. We do not provide child seats. There is reduced pricing for infants in trailers.

What a great experience. Most of our group hadn't ridden a bike in years and they loved our day biking from Arrowtown to Queenstown, with a slight detour thrown in to visit Gibbston Valley winery. We were all over 50 and all used E bikes which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable, knowing we had that extra bit of boost to help us up the hilly parts. The team at [the tour operator] was great and I highly would recommend them to anyone. Thanks.

What a blast it was to ride with [the tour operator]! My friend and I hired e-bikes and did the Arrowtown to Queenstown option. You are met instantly with friendly staff upon checking in at the Queenstown bike shop. The guy who drive us to Queenstown was very nice as well, telling us history of the places we went past! After arriving at Queenstown we were expertly fitted out with our bikes and given an in depth explanation of what we can do across the day. We went all the way up to Gibson valley (which we passed over multiple swinging bridges and stunning scenario which was amazing) and stopped at the Gibson Valley for wood fired pizzas and a beer (highly recommend doing this). Despite encountering a broken chain 15km out from Queenstown the company happily helped us out and drove out to drop off another bike! What a way to do service! Across the 60km we road from 9am-4pm it was such an epic experience and for $135 it’s definitely worth your money and far better than any other activity in Queenstown in terms of money! Way to go guys - definitely recommend you guys!

We choose the shuttle from Queenstown to Arrowtown and did self guided ride back to Queenstown (easier ride than Queenstown to Arrowtown). Steve picked us up on time, along with other riders and provided great commentary during the 30 minutes to Arrowtown. Must also compliment him on his instructions and advice on the bikes before we set off on our ride. Bikes were of good quality and the actual ride amazing. We hired bikes again the next day and self guided to Kelvin Heights. Well worth doing. We are blown by the beauty of Queenstown!
