  • What happens after Glenorchy Bike Park?

After exploring Glenorchy Bike Park, you'll need to return to South Hobart to drop off your hire bike. There are two ways to get back:

Option 1: Ride the Intercity Cycleway (Recommended for manual bikes)
Follow the flat, sealed Intercity Cycleway, which runs along a former railway line between Glenorchy and Hobart. The ride back to the shop is approximately 14 km (8.7 mi) and takes around 60 minutes.

    Google Maps route: https://goo.gl/maps/7UCpFf67pijf6XRh8

Option 2: Climb back up the North–South Track (Recommended for e-bikes)
For riders on a manual mountain bike, this is a long and demanding climb, taking around 2.5 hours. If you've hired an e-bike, the ascent is much more enjoyable and takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

From near The Springs, you can finish your day with one of several fun intermediate-level descents into South Hobart, ending just 10 minutes from our shop.

Absolutely fantastic experience!  We went up the mountain with the rest of the bike crew, and then were off on our own on the self-guided route back down to Hobart.  Incredible biking through the forests and brilliant e-bikes.  At the end of the 'mountain' route there is an MTB park area which was also fun.  We then rode back to the operator's office via the cycle way, which was also great and a really awesome way to see some of the city.  We loved this tour and it was one of our most memorable and favourite things we did in Tassie.  Highly recommend!
