Experience one of Hobart’s most exhilarating mountain bike adventures as you tackle the iconic North–South Track before finishing at the Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park. After a scenic shuttle to the trailhead on Mt Wellington/kunanyi, you'll start your ride at 720 metres above sea level and descend through lush rainforest, towering eucalypt forest and dry bushland, enjoying a thrilling mix of flowing singletrack, technical sections and sweeping berms.
The journey to Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park covers around 11 km and is mostly downhill, with a few short climbs to keep things interesting. Along the way, you'll cross an ancient glacial rockslide and enjoy spectacular views over Hobart, the Derwent River and the Tasman Peninsula.
Once you reach the bike park, you can continue the adventure by exploring a variety of purpose-built trails, from flowing loops to challenging black-rated downhill runs, tabletop jump lines and dirt jumps. Ride at your own pace on a premium dual-suspension mountain bike or e-mountain bike, choosing the trails that best suit your riding style. The trails are well signposted, although its recommended to use a navigation app such as Trailforks for added confidence.
Perfect for intermediate riders, this self-guided experience combines spectacular scenery with some of Hobart's best mountain biking, offering approximately 650 metres of descending elevation, diverse trail options and the flexibility to ride as much—or as little—as you like. For an even bigger adventure, you can also upgrade to a summit shuttle for an even longer descent.
