Yes, the bikes available to hire on this tour are modern aluminum framed, hybrid models with 24 speeds and a comfortable saddle, offering an upright riding position. The bikes come equipped with rear pannier, handlebar bag, lock, repair kit, and map holder.

Electric bikes are also available to hire.

The tour operator suggests you bring your own helmet for safety and hygiene reasons. Alternatively, helmets can be hired for an additional fee.

This tour is best suited to those who cycle regularly as there are some hilly sections that will test your stamina and some areas that are quite mountainous.

This is a strenuous biking trip in a hilly region where climbs cannot be avoided. You are used to daily cycling. You have already been on cycling tours for a few days. You are ready to cycle between 35 and 40 km (21-25 mi) per day with slight difficulties.

You will mostly cycle on asphalt vineyards roads, countryside roads and cycle paths – no traffic roads.

The tour starts and ends in Grignan, France. Grignan is a small village situated at some kilometeres from Montélimar. 

You can get the train from Paris or other areas of France to Montélimar and then travel by taxi to Grignan (about 80-85€). Alternatively, the closest airport is Avignon Provence Airport (AVN) which is approximately 57 km (35 mi) away.

If you are traveling solo or would like your own room then a single supplement is payable.

Half-board refers to dinners, typically featuring 3-course meals (starter, main course, dessert) at local restaurants. Drinks and extras are not included and should be paid directly at the restaurant. Dinners are usually scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

These meals are reserved at set times to ensure quality service. You will receive vouchers in your welcome pack, which must be presented at each restaurant. For this tour, four dinners are included if the half-board supplement will be availed.

Helmets are provided if you rent a bike with the tour operator. But you can always bring your own helmet if you wish.

You will be provided with a roadbook containing all the essential addresses, restaurant recommendations, tourist information, detailed maps, and a complete description of the route.

Furthermore, a free application available on your smartphone is provided for you to follow the itinerary without the risk of getting lost (bike smartphone holder provided).

Luggage transfer is an optional service for an additional fee. If availed, your luggage will be transferred between each hotel.

Luggage should be at the reception every morning by 10:00am. They will be delivered by 4:00pm to the next hotel.
