  • Where does the tour start and finish?

    The tour starts in Buffalo and finishes in Albany, New York. Flying in and out can be through Albany International Airport (ALB) or New York City.

  • How long is the tour and how many days of cycling?

    The tour is 10 days long with 9 days of cycling.

  • Are there luggage limits?

    Yes, cargo space on the vans is very limited therefore luggage limits must be enforced. Luggage limits vary depending on the length of each tour and the support equipment used. You will be provided detailed luggage information with your tour info packet. All guest are required to adhere to the strictly enforced luggage limits.

  • What should be packed for the tour?

    Pack light: Most locations are small cities and towns. For the most part, attire will be very casual, so you can leave the tux and tiara at home! There will be access to laundry facilities at or near many hotels.

    Climate: May-June-Sept-Oct, can have cool days and evenings. Bring a warm sweater or light jacket. You may want a long-sleeved cycling jersey and pants. During July & Aug. days can be hot and humid. Make sure you are cycling in cool fabrics, however a light sweater may still be desired at night.

    Special Items: Hat, sunscreen, bathing suit, towel, bug spray, rain gear, rain poncho for your bike.

  • Can I bring my own bike?

    For sure! However, please note that for each guest on a tour 1 space is allocated for 1 standard bike. A standard bike does not exceed 74" in total length, tip-to-tip, and tires width must not exceed 2".  You MUST inform us in advance if your bike is oversized! Any personal bike that exceeds limits must be approved prior to the tour and is subject to additional handling fees.

    If you will bring your own bike on your tour, you'll need to bring your own gear as well. We recommend bringing a rear trunk to carry stuff like hat, sunscreen, rain gear, etc. You'll also need to bring 2 tubes that fit your tires.

    A road or hybrid bike is recommended for this tour.

  • What does the SAG Van provide?

    The SAG (support and gear) Van always has cold water and snacks. There is also first aid kits, tools, bike pump available for your use.

  • What if I can't ride all the miles on any given day?

    Everyone is always welcome to skip a few miles by riding in the SAG van. Use the SAG van to take a break if you are tired, or hot. The van follows along the tour so you'll still see all the highlights, and you can ride as much or as little as you like!

  • Do you shuttle the luggage?

    Yes, luggage is shuttled to your hotel each day.

  • Will you help if I have a bike problem?

    Absolutely! We'll do our best to help you work out any mechanical bike issue. If we can't get your issue resolved we'll get your personal bike to the nearest bike shop.

     If you are using our rentals, we'll swap out your bike if there is a mechanical issue.

  • How do I get there?

    Traveling by Air: Flying in and out can be through Albany International Airport (ALB) or New York City.

    Traveling by Car: Parking is available in Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo. Coordinating your parking with available shuttle options is possible.

    Shuttle Options: On Day 1 of the tour, shuttles are available to Buffalo from Albany.  Shuttle space is limited and must be reserved in advance. It includes the transfer of allowable luggage, bike and gear (if bringing your own).

    Transport Without Bikes: If you are traveling without bikes and need transportation, Amtrak has convenient service, to/from NYC, Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo.
