  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts at 9am at The Lodge at Jackson Hole. The tour ends in Jackson between 2-4pm on the last day.

Fly in/out of Jackson Hole Airport (JAC).

  • How long is the tour? How many days cycling?

The tour is 6 days long with 3 days of cycling, 1 day of hiking in Yellowstone, 1 day of white water rafting and 1 of rock climbing/hiking.

  • Can you tell me about the food on tour?

Food is a big part of the experience. The guides prepare all of your meals on the camping trip. Expect three delicious meals a day consisting entirely of freshly prepared foods. These include fresh organic fruits and vegetables as well as meats. There will also be energy snacks aboard the support vehicles. Don’t be surprised if your guides purchase fresh fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day while you are out riding. They may just show up on the trail with a local treat!

Many guests are vegans or vegetarians, whom the tour operator is more than happy to accommodate. If you have special diet requirements or limitations, just let us know when you sign-up and the tour operator will work with you to meet your needs.

  • Are there any limits on what I should bring?

Luggage is limited to one small soft-shelled suitcase or medium/large sized duffel bag (no heavier than 40 pounds). Please ensure your luggage container is water repellant. The tour operator also suggests bringing a hydration daypack or small backpack for valuables.

  • How should I prepare for the trip?

As an adventurous person, feel free to do whatever you can before the trip. Except for biking and hiking, no experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and an open mind ready to try some new adventures. Your level of fitness also affects how much you enjoy your tour. Check your specific itinerary for an idea of your average daily mileage and level of strenuousness, then train appropriately.

For optimal physical preparation, the tour operator recommends that you ride at least several hours per week during the month preceding the tour. During the tour, you will be on your bike every day, and we can assure you that an unprepared bottom is a sore one! If you can’t ride your bike or don’t own one, take a spin class at your local gym a few times a week.

    HIKING

To prepare for the tour, the tour operator recommends that you hike, jog or run at least several hours per week during the month preceding the tour. Walk/run in the shoes and sock you are bringing on the trip. This will help prevent blisters and sore feet.

  • What is the operator's environmental stance?

They don’t just preach environmental awareness, they live it. The tour operator recycles 90% of our waste and run their LEED Platinum facilities with solar and wind power. Additionally, their facilities are net-zero energy (they produce more energy than is consumed) which makes them the only commercial outfitter in the world who is net positive energy.

  • What's the tour like?

The tour is classified as active with a Fitness Level: 2-3 and Technical Level: 2-3 Biking. The tour is suitable for solo riders, couples & friends and families.

  • Are bikes available to hire?

The tour operator provides only high-end bicycles from Specialized and Santa Cruz. They replace their rental fleet each season to ensure all rentals meet their high standards.

So [the tour operator] created a custom 6-day multisport trip for myself and 4 other guys. Both the company and our two guides, Merrick and Tori, were absolutely top notch. No complaints whatsoever. The guides were genuinely nice/enjoyable to be around and were very knowledgeable and patient. All meals were provided and our guides were excellent cooks as well. During our 6 days, we got in three days of mountain biking, an evening of horseback riding at the Mill Iron Ranch, half day whitewater rafting on Snake River, tram ride at Jackson Hole mountain resort with hiking and waffles on top of the mountain, a 16-18 mile hike in the Grand Tetons from Jenny Lake to Lake Solitude, and a full day at Yellowstone. We stayed at the Gros Ventre campsite just outside Jackson Hole each night using rental gear from the company. All camping gear and the Stumpjumper rental bikes were in great shape. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.

A Great Week

Did a 6 day tour with a couple of their guides in Jackson Hole, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone. Mountain biking, whitewater rafting, hiking, tour of Yellowstone. It was amazing. Our guides were very knowledgeable...and damn could they cook!
