  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends in Napier on the North Island of New Zealand.

You are encouraged to arrive the day before the tour starts so you are ready to go, in Napier, in the morning of day 1.

On departure, please book flights, if leaving from Hawke's Bay Airport (NPE), for departure no earlier than 5pm on the last day.

You can fly into Hawke's Bay Airport (NPE) or take an Intercity bus from Auckland (7hrs) or Wellington (6hrs).

  • How long is the tour? How many cycling days?

The tour is 5 days long with all days being cycling days.

  • What's the tour like?

The Hawke's Bay Art Deco and Vineyards tour is graded moderate. The rides are not technical but you do need to be capable of cycling distances between 50-70km per day, for 5+ days. On-road sections may have low to moderate traffic levels, mostly on back-roads and riders need to be confident riding with some traffic. E-bikes are suitable if ridden appropriately and manage battery life (i.e. not on turbo the whole time, and in the correct chain ring for climbing hills). With the trip being fully supported, you can also choose to ride shorter sections and hop in the van at any time.

  • Who will lead the group?

The guides are one of the operator's biggest assets. They pride themselves with the standard and quality of these great people who you will be spending your holiday with. They come from all walks of life but they all have a common desire to give you the best possible experience, heaps of fun and lots of fond memories to take home with you. You'll be provided with the services of two guides for many of the trips, (this may depend on the size of the group). All are certified in first aid and CPR and many are advanced mountain guides.
