  • What's the tour like?

The Milford and Fiordland Hike, Bike and Kayak is graded moderate. You will need a reasonable level of fitness and the ground operator suggest 4 hours of cycling and hiking per week for three months leading up to your trip. You will need to be able to walk for 3‑4 hours at a time on undulating paths. Most of the cycle trail is hard packed gravel, it is recommended to train on compacted gravel trails, and completing a multi‑day ride prior to your trip to get used to being in the saddle for long periods of time.

The tour is fully supported and if at any stage you feel like having a rest from cycling you will be able to ride in the support vehicle. You do not need to have any previous experience of kayaking before you join this tour, it is an introductory kayak excursion. You will receive instructions and a full briefing by your experienced kayak guide before you set off on the water

  • Is a bike available to hire?

Yes. The tour operator can rent you an e-bike or a mountain bike for the tour. Or, you are welcome to bring your own bike.

  • Who will lead the tour?

The guides are one of the biggest assets of the tour operator and they have pride for their level of quality and high standards. Once the trip reaches 8 people,  two expert guides will join to maximise your enjoyment and overall experience. You’ll know you’re in safe hands as all of the guides are certified in first aid and CPR and many of them are trained bike mechanics. They come from all walks of life but the guides have a common desire to give you the best possible experience, fun and lots of fond memories to take home with you.

  • What are the accommodations like?

The accommodation for this trip has been carefully selected to provide comfort and value in the best locations possible. Except for the night on Milford Sound, the accommodation is on a twin share or double room basis with private facilities. If you wish to reserve a room to yourself a single supplement is available at extra cost.

Please note: although every endeavor is made to stay at the accommodation detailed in the itinerary, occasionally, due to seasonal shortages, there may be a need to use other accommodation of a similar standard. For the night on the Milford cruise boat you will be in private twin/double rooms with shared bathroom facilities, single rooms are unavailable.

Really appreciate flexibility to allow some to ride bikes whilst other in the bus. Great guides. Every day different totally unique experiences. Loved the boating. Liked the midway pause. Beautifully organized, folding picnic tables to pineapple chocolate "like mountains, remarkable" a great adventure in a beautiful land. Literally the future of a beautiful humanity.
