Join a leisurely, fully guided, bike tour through the rolling countryside of the famous Yarra Valley wine region. The cycling is easy and fun, riding along the off-road Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail, including the new extension from Yering where the riding begins. The scenery is stunning in the Yarra Valley and along the Rail Trail. You will cycle past farms, vineyards and local produce stores. You will enjoy plenty of photo stops, coffee for morning lunch at the iconic Carriage Cafe which is included in your tour.
Tour de VinesThe tour starts with a pick up in central Melbourne, or you can meet the group at the starting point in Yering. It’s about a 1-hour transfer to the start of the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail. You can BYO bike or hire a hybrid bike or an e-bike, perfect for a day on this trail. The scheduled cycling is 30-40kms depending on the pace of the group and is classified as easy. There are no hills, the cycling is generally flat and is great fun. As transport is included, you can enjoy cycling one way on the rail trail without having to double back. The riding is suitable for children who can manage to cycle for 1 to 2 hours.
When the cycling is done, you will be taken to lesser-known cellar doors for wine tastings. If time permits, you may also visit Yarra Valley Dairy or Yarra Valley Chocolaterie on the way back to Melbourne.
