  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts and ends in the market town of Beverley.

If traveling by car your destination is Beverley and you will be able to leave your car at or near the accommodation for the duration of the trip.

If traveling by train the accommodation is just a short walk away from Beverley train station.

  • How long is the tour? How many days cycling?

The tour is 6 days long with 5 days of cycling.

  • What's the tour like?

The Yorkshire Wolds Cycleway uses a combination of cycle paths, quiet country roads and some short sections of track.

Most of the surface is tarmac. There is an unavoidable short grassy section which climbs a farm track for approx. 2km (1.25 miles).

The Yorkshire Wolds Cycleway uses a part of the National Cycle Network, a route from the charity, Sustrans, who are working to make it easier for everyone to cycle in the UK.  The ground operator will donate to Sustrans for every mile that you and others ride on this route.

  • What equipment is provided with the rental bikes?

A rack and two panniers, a handlebar phone mount and one bottle cage are provided with all rental bikes, along with an emergency repair kit in a seat-post bag containing a puncture repair kit, a multitool, a spare innertube and a bike pump. A bike lock will also be provided (one between two bikes).

Helmets are also provided if needed. If you’d like one to be provided, please request this at the time of booking.

You are welcome to bring along your own saddle, or own pedals if renting a hybrid bike, but please let us know if advance if you plan to do so.

  • Is there any vehicle support on the tour?

There is no vehicle support on this tour, however, your luggage will be transferred between your accommodation. The tour operator provides a 24-hour emergency contact number for you to call if you encounter any problems during the trip. Please note that this may incur additional charges depending on the nature of the action required.

  • What's the weather like?

When cycling in the UK it’s best to come prepared for sun and rain, warm and cold all in the same day – spring, summer and autumn. Although there can be wide variations the monthly average temperature in the UK ranges from 9 degrees centigrade in April through to 17 degrees centigrade in July and then 11 degrees in October.

At the beginning and end of the season (in March and late October) the weather can be a little less predictable and there could be some cooler days.

Wonderful few days discovering the beautiful rolling countryside. We stayed in lovely places each day and have never eaten so many delicious breakfasts! Thank you [to the tour operator] for the great organization.

First time I have done a trip like this and thoroughly enjoyed the experience – definitely will not be the last. From initial enquiry to follow up customer service and support was excellent.

The final day Bridlington to Beverley was fantastic with long stretches of downhill and great weather. When my sister had an issue with her gears on her hire bike the response was very swift and sorted easily without inconveniencing us.

"We were impressed..."

Our favorite day was at RSPB Bempton Cliffs, what a spectacle! We found it hard to leave the cliffs. We were advised by other cyclists to get there early and so we even saw the barn owl hunting! The Quintin Arms was a welcome stop right en route.

The rep we saw at the beginning was very efficient and gave us our phone mount map and we were off. No unnecessary delays. Whoever delivered our luggage please thank them, the cases were always there and in our rooms. We were impressed with the guidance map on the phone!
