Cycle Nicaragua, Panama and Costa Rica

A fantastic time. Cycling is a brilliant way of seeing a country and in this case 3 countries, all different in their own unique ways. Our guide "Fez" and his driver Luizca were great characters and if you're lucky enough to get them on your trip they will keep you entertained. My advice would be to prepare for this properly, the climbs are bit more challenging than you might think in the heat and humidity. I learned that in Central America you are either going up a hill or coming down the other side in to a dip for the next climb. Don't be put off though it's still an amazing trip.

Such a wonderful way to see three such beautiful countries; Can't speak highly enough of our tour guide/ leader Fez (Christopher) and our driver Luisca- so knowledgable and we always felt very safe in their hands Accommodation varied in type but always very clean; food generally very good- but the highlight was the picnics which Fez and Luisca prepared at the roadside!

Finding out that they had employed the best guide in Central America. Fez is without equal; informative, knowledgeable, warm, kind, responsible, thoughtful and capable. There is no problem that he cannot solve, no query he can't answer, no issue that is too small or too big for him to want to tackle.

Excellent guide, with great support team, and a superb group of people to travel with. Particularly enjoyed the cycling in Costa Rica, with varying road surfaces and good quality mountain bikes. The stay at Turrialtico Hotel near Turrialba was particularly memorable because of the wildlife and quality of food and service

Just fantastic- we both loved it, it exceeded expectations which were high after a great trip to Vietnam with [the operator] last year. Guide Chris was superb, very knowledgeable, very professional, excellent company, authoritative with a light touch. Amazingly experienced & charismatic considering he was only 26. He managed the group exceptionally well considering we were mostly pretty old!! Itinerary was varied, fascinating, well balanced. Kit - i.e bikes & buses good & well maintained. Drivers & support staff all excellent. Thank you!!

Most of the cycling on this trip is fairly moderate, the maximum distance covered in a day being about 67km. However, you should be prepared for the possibility of getting wet and be confident in traffic. The bicycles are generally good quality and decently maintained. Good support means that it is not usually necessary to carry much when cycling. This holiday also includes extensive elements of travel. It is fascinating to compare the different countries. Our leader (Mike) was a long term resident of Costa Rica and had a really good knowledge of the three countries, including the quirks of crossing the land borders. There are also relaxation days with chances to visit Nature Reserves, take boat rides and spend time on the beach.

A well co-ordinated tour that gave you a taste of the real Latin America. The tour leader, driver and mechanics were a great team. Well thought out cycling days mixed with time off to explore or relax. Highlights were Ometepe Island, two fabulous picnics, a night spa visit and a 71kms great days cycling. Tremendous views where we often stopped to take photos and warm friendly people we met along the way. Don't forget to take your gel saddle cover!

The trip was excellent, everything was easy and hassle free thanks to our tour guide Mike, his professionalism, experience, knowledge and easy going attitude made the entire trip amazing. Our bus driver Brian and both mechanics were also fantastic and helped make the entire trip run smoothly. The stay on Ometepe island was amazing as was the mountain lodge, each country had many highlights, it's difficult to choose one thing. All in all an amazing experience.

Really great and thoroughly enjoyable trip. The three countries are quite different which was great to experience, you could easily spend 2 weeks in just one of them. I loved the trip to Ometepe Island in lake Nicaragua, the cycle ending at the natural springs was a great day out. Our tour leader Mike was brilliant and made the trip run like clockwork even through the border crossings. Be prepared for rain when in central Costa Rica and Boca del Toros, we got soaked a few times both on and off the bikes!

I enjoyed every aspect of the holiday from start to finish, it was so well planned and I felt completely safe regardless of concerns I had with Central America - I had no need at all, the people in Nicaragua and Costa Rica were lovely - most of the hotels were good, some great and a couple were not so great but fine to just sleep - the guide was just brilliant (Daniel) and being local meant he was able to show us so much more and spent all his time with us which I was not expecting! I cannot rate this holiday or company enough - if this is your first adventure holiday do it! - the cycling was good too ha!

This is a great cycling adventure. If you love cycling, have a desire to see wonderful countries and share travel experiences, then this the trip for you. We had a mixture rain forests and rural roads. Everyday had its own highlights!! We even had an option to visit an uninhabited desert island. The tour leader made everything run smoothly and added to the experience.
